Condensed Matter Theory course. Exam rules. 1. The exam for this course is oral. 2. The exam is open-book: you can use any hand-written or printed material (but not laptops, phones, or other electronic devices). 3. The exam will consist of (1) one theory topic (randomly chosen from the list of topics; the list of topics will be available by the last lecture of the semester); (2) one mini-problem (not known in advance); (3) possible additional questions on the topics of the course. The mini-problem will not require any technical calculations (it will be easier than the average level of homework problems). 4. You will have at least 15 minutes to solve the mini-problem and prepare your presentation. 5. You should aim at a 5-10-minute presentation for the theory topic and a 5-10 minute (not more) presentation for the mini-problem. 6. The overall duration of the exam (not including preparation) is about 30 minutes.
